PROTECT YOUR HULL WITH ANTIFOULING
Why antifouling? After some time, all sorts of organisms can build up on the underside of your hull: from algae and seaweed to mussels. These organisms result in a higher resistance of your boat. This means that it requires more energy to move through the water. This leads to increased fuel consumption, lower speeds and a reduced performance of your boat.
This organism growth even impacts the longevity of your boat. The lower layers are affected and the risk of osmosis increases. You can prevent these problems by applying antifouling that protects against this growth. We recommend a new layer of antifouling every year although it does also depend on your use of the boat.
However, even if the material under the waterline still gets damaged it is not the end of the world. In that case, we will carry out professional repairs.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANTIFOULING
There are two basic types of antifouling: hard antifoul and self eroding antifoul. We work with both types. We will advise you which product is best for your boat and your particular use.
The hard version is suitable for higher speed vessels. Self eroding antifoul is slightly softer and suitable for vessels that move through the water a little less fast, such as sloops.
Is your boat stored at our winter storage facilities? We will be happy to apply a layer of antifouling during this period. We can also carry out general maintenance during this period.
